Three Things I Want to See vs Kazakhstan
Yep, that’s a picture of Borat. Because we’re playing Kazakhstan. I never claimed I wasn’t predictable. But I will promise not to do it again. Seriously.
We meet Kazakhstan at Wembley on October 11th, then travel to Belarus for a game on October 15th.
Clearly, the trip to Belarus is the toughie out of those two, but Kazakhstan are making some confident moves. Moves like naming the squad on September 23rd a full 19 days before the game is schedule to take place.
Sounds confident anway. Or maybe they need a long lead time to persuade the players to wear the new away kit (pictured.)
Sorry, I swear, that’s the last time I’ll mention Borat.
As for England… of all the potential selection questions to come – eg Should we stick with the exact same team that beat Croatia? Gerrard or Lampard? Is it worth Beckham flying all that way for just a few minutes? Michael Owen? – there are just three simple things I want to see happen vs Kazakhstan:
1) Theo Walcott playing wide right – pace is king.
2) Emile Heskey (or other “big man” playing up front)*
3) Gerrard or Lampard in central midfield – either is fine, just not both.
*Peter Crouch doesn’t count
