Three Things I Want to See vs Kazakhstan

September 28th, 2008 | By: Daryl | 7 Comments »

Yep, that’s a picture of Borat. Because we’re playing Kazakhstan. I never claimed I wasn’t predictable. But I will promise not to do it again. Seriously.

We meet Kazakhstan at Wembley on October 11th, then travel to Belarus for a game on October 15th.

Clearly, the trip to Belarus is the toughie out of those two, but Kazakhstan are making some confident moves. Moves like naming the squad on September 23rd a full 19 days before the game is schedule to take place.

Sounds confident anway. Or maybe they need a long lead time to persuade the players to wear the new away kit (pictured.)

Sorry, I swear, that’s the last time I’ll mention Borat.

As for England… of all the potential selection questions to come - eg Should we stick with the exact same team that beat Croatia? Gerrard or Lampard? Is it worth Beckham flying all that way for just a few minutes? Michael Owen? - there are just three simple things I want to see happen vs Kazakhstan:

1) Theo Walcott playing wide right - pace is king.
2) Emile Heskey (or other “big man” playing up front)*
3) Gerrard or Lampard in central midfield - either is fine, just not both.

*Peter Crouch doesn’t count

Watched Borat today for the first time. I much prefer movies in the like of Nomad or Mongol for that part of the world I must say. It’s not always funny and sometimes it’s quite insulting to the country but I guess that’s the universe of satire and comedy.

It will be an interesting game for England considering Kazakhistan’s improvement (they defeated Serbia last year), they’re certainly not part of the minnows league any longer.

3-0 to england against kazaks, and a 2-1 win in belarus. I think finally england have turned a corner and will continue to improve. Agbonlahor and young should def be brought into the squad after there great start to the season. Team for games:
———————James———————
–Johnson——-Rio———–Terry—–Cole—-
———————Barry———————
Walcott————-Lampard—————J.Cole–
————-Rooney———-Heskey————–

Subs- Hart, Brown, Woodgate, Gerrard, Young, SWP, Agbonlahor, Owen

I really can’t wait to see this game, no doubt England will kick ass of Kazakhstan, however Kazakhs are pissed of by Borat movie, and this could be a really contributing factor to unxpected result of the game, sensation 0:1, kazakhs win ;)!!!!
