McClaren is a genius!

Steve McClown showed his true colors once again by recalling David Beckham today, after ceremoniously booting him off in his initial takeover of the team. Talk about two steps back. What an idiot. Let’s take a look at the squad, why don’t we:

Keepers:
Paul Robinson – rubbish.
Scott Carson – better than Robinson.
Robert Green – probably better than Robinson.

Where’s David James? Might as well call him up too if your gonna call up Beckham. He’s better than Robinson as well.

Backs:
Phil Neville – you’ve got to be kidding me.
Rio Ferdinand – Yeah, his form of late has definitely earned him a call up.
John Terry – I’m hoping he gets back to his pre-World Cup form.
Wayne Bridge – Um, don’t really mind seeing him and wouldn’t mind it even more if he started.
Wes Brown – Oh god, the joke just gets worse.
Jamie Carragher – As a Liverpool fan, I wish Jamie would retire from International play. He’s getting up there in the years and seriously, does he really want to be part of this fiasco?
Michael Dawson – He’s mistake prone, but he’s young and actually cares.
Ledley King – Mediocre, but I’d rather see him than most other players on this list.
Nicky Shorey – Give the lad a chance.

Who’s missing? Where is Jonathan Woodgate? Wow, no Woodgate is a bit shocking. What about Gareth Barry? Is Micah Richards injured. No Ashley Cole? Probably a good move, has not been very impressive this year.

Midfielders:
David Beckham – I have nothing against Beckham and he’ll probably end up being good for the squad, but this is more of a PR move than anything.
Steven Gerrard – The best player in the world, who I wish should get off this sinking ship.
Jermaine Jenas – Uh, once again, nothing against him, but has he really earned a spot here?
Joe Cole – Might just save our Euro hopes.
Aaron Lennon – Needs to learn how to think. All hype and no substance so far.
David Bentley – Earned it.
Michael Carrick – Hey, it’s Michael Carrick.
Frank Lampard – Ha ha ha ha. You can’t play Lampard and… ah forget it.
Stewart Downing – McClown’s bitch.
Kieron Dyer – I’d rather see Scott Parker.

Missing – Jermaine Pennant. Better than Lennon, but honestly, I don’t care, I want him fresh and injury free for next season. Steve Sidwell, anyone?

Forwards:
Peter Crouch – okay.
Michael Owen – whatever.
Alan Smith – Actually don’t mind him, brings a different kind of style to the role.
Jermaine Defoe – Like him as well.

Missing – Where’s Rooney?

Anyhow, the Brazil game matters little, but it would be nice if it was an exciting and competitive match, the real challenge is the Estonia match. If we don’t win that, we’re screwed, and I wonder if McClown brought on Beckham so the blame will be diverted? Probably.
