But none of them are centre mids. I think part of the problem is that the guys who play centre mid tend to be more athletic all-action types like Gerrard or Lampard. There's just no room in the English game for a Riquelme style #10 who's only job is to create, so if you do have a few tricks then you get pushed out to the wing to do it there. Agree with Michel-Olivier that those players can beat a man. But none of them are centre mids. I would argue that some are more naturally gifted than others too - certainly Lennon's main advantage is his pace. It'll be interesting to see if any of them remain flair players as they get older or if it gets "coached out of them". I wouldn't call Rooney a flair player either. Skillfull yes.
