They should have brought in players that can create set pieces earlier. At least with the introduction of Lampard, Beckham and Carlton Cole were able to get England closer to the Spanish box. Gerrard needs to be in the middle but I think the most important players are Walcott/ Joe Cole and maybe Ashley Young. They are the only players capable of going by people and creating for themselves and others... Hopefully the future will be bright with Jack Wilshere and co but as of now I feel like they are way too ne dimensional and passive... IMO England simply do not have the creative players to compete.
