Brazil will be England’s first opponent in the new Wembley

April 11th, 2007 | By: Brian Caudell | 9 Comments »

Is there a better way to open up the new Wembley than inviting arguably the world’s best team for a friendly?

At least it’s not Ecuador. Or Guatemala. At least when we lose, it’ll be expected. At least from rational fans. At least Joe Cole will be back. And I heard that a banger (not in the mouth, mind you) will cost at least ₤6.

Can’t wait to blow my semi-hard earned money on it!

i am a brazilian fan and i think it’s a really great game to watch… probably the two teams with the best players in the world…

Sector 507, row 3, seat 109, I’LL BE THERE! Bought a ticket on-line, after the ballot was closed and there were some tickets left. I’m truly honoured to be able to witness football history being made. Wembley is not just a stadium, it’s a temple of modern (English) football. It realy doesn’t metter who will win. Most important thing is that FOOTBALL’S COMING HOME!

Sorry mate, I’ve only got one. But they were surprisingly easy to purchase once the ballot was closed and “leftovers” selling date and time was announced(tip for the future). I just logged in on a given date and time, was around 900th in the queue, but my turn came in just couple of minutes. You did have to register for the ballot first, though. You can also join “englANDfans”(through The FA web site, membership costs around ₤45 per year) and you will be amongst first to be offered to buy a ticket, before general public can purchase them. Unfortunately, I don’t think that there are any tickets left for the Brazil game. Best thing you can do is to try on Wembley on the match day. And be careful if you’re offered ticket by someone other then official distributors(The FA & TicketMaster) ‘cause they are all personalized and you might bi asked for a FAN number(number that you are given by the FA once you apply for the ballot) in order to enter the venue.
Anyway, best of luck in finding a ticket, it’s gonna be one hell of a game.

Im really looking forward to the England and Brazil game at the new Wembley. If England win it will earn some pride back and we would be able to take positives out of the game.
