I was surprised to see such a large crowd. I know they were selling tickets on the afternoon of the match. I wonder if that was a factor?

...that would be looking at the whole squad as options in their respective positions, not for the midfield...

Your point about the next generation of right midfielders is one that's rarely made -- and that I agree with -- because the press is so excited about fanning the alleged DB v DB rivalry. Bentley is both decent and misquoted, but he's 23 so doesn't quite fall into the youth with potential category. I look forward to seeing the other options also, as well as looking at the whole squad as options. Something I think Capello is very good at and which has helped him develop some fantastic kids with support from veterans -- such as Gago and Higuain when they arrived mid-season, and somewhat in shock, at Real Madrid. Don't know if how much is possible in that regard without the chance to mold a squad daily, but if anyone can...?

Also agree about Terry, with the added problem that I can't get the image of him spitting down Teves' neck out of my mind >>>:-( !

Gerrard has been brilliant playing behind Torres all season. His ball skills and bag of tricks have actually grown during the last couple of years. Center mid-field with him and either Hargraeves -- who might have been man of the match himself -- or Barry is a beautiful thing. Shouldn't Joe Cole -- on the left -- be given the chance to find more consistency under Capello, like a few other players with less talent are being given?
