I really like Terry on the pitch - he's one of the defenders I would always want on my side during a match. But he's just not captain material, for all the reasons you stated. The captain's the guy pulling people out of a potential fight, and doing everything to avoid the team getting a red card, and that's not John Terry. Ferdinand seems like a better choice.
