He needs some allies instead of people trying to tear him down. At this rate why would ANYONE want to coach England?

Good to hear Rooney being nice and humble with that crack about his bald patch. I’d have absolutely no problem with him being the next England captain.

I felt sorry for him the day he took the job. I knew this would happen. He’s such a great coach, but managing in England is like trying to work in hell.

I shudder to think how much worse this could all have been under a different coach. Let’s just hope the worst is over.

I am really surprised why we don’t keep an eye on some young English players playing abroad especially Derbyshire (who scored again yesterday) and the recent Molde (2nd in Norway) loan signing Ben Amos! The latter played a great game against Staebek, he conceded 2 goals in the 2-1 defeat but produced some good saves and will play today against Rosenborg (leaders)!

The irony of this is that Beckham came to Milan in order to secure a spot in the England NT. And now it looks like that won’t be the case. Which is a shame because aside from everyone else on England, I actually like Beckham. And this would’ve been his las World Cup.

A distressing end to a football icon’s dream no doubt, but in retrospect, probably a blessing in disguise. His inclusion in the squad was always in question after the first leg in Milan, and injury was the only way for the footballing gods to end his international career with dignity.

Capello is now free to pick his best squad, which will be free of the pressures of “play Beckham”, and the man himself can feel that he hasn’t suffered a humiliating exclusion.

I am a huge Beckham fan but I think it might be the right moment to call time on a career that ended in two of the greatest stadiums in the world – Old Trafford and the San Siro.

If the Galaxy will allow him to….

Now Becks is ruled out of this world cup I really would love Wayne Bridge to reconsider and make himself available for selection. Please do it Wayne, and Becks would be so proud if you did it for him and helped bring the World Cup back to Britain. We can all see how Becks is suffering more from not being able to take part than his actual injury. Please ring Capello today your country needs you.

a huge loss for england’s world cup chances. the beckham haters will disagree but the fact is he adds a lot to the team. mostly with leadership and class off the pitch these days but still had a role to play delivering the ball from the right. lennon on form (very rare) is amazing but swp and walbott dont come close to becks. this is a blow to england’s world cup aspirations.

ENGLAND WILL LOSE THE CUP.
I SURE ABOUT THAT.
NOTE DOWN
ENGLAND DESTINATION IS IN BECKHAM HAND.
THANK YOU

Rooney might look like the thug, but Gerrard…
I sure miss the days of Robbie Fowler and Gary Lineker!

It’s worth noting that Wes Brown committed a nearly identical offense (albeit during a tussle for the ball) against Gerrard around the 21st minute of play — and that is merely the proverbial tip of the iceberg with respect to the dirty play that Brown himself displayed over the game’s length. Not that this exculpates Gerrard, by any means. A captain should be above holding grudges or going for such classless revenge.

That said, Rooney? Really? Like he hasn’t gone for a cheap hit when frustrated by dirty marking. A man with such a notorious temper should likewise not take the top spot.

He has a temper 2 years ago. He’s settled down a lot in the past couple seasons, and really we haven’t seen that temper flare. His rep as a dirty, angry player is outdated.

He also has some great qualities for a captain: respect for and from his teammates, he’s not selfish on the field, and leads a pretty quiet out the field life. I’m no Manchester United fan, but I’m a huge Wayne Rooney fan, and I think he’s our best candidate for captain when Ferdinand bows out of the national team, which may be rather soon. He is no spring chicken.

this might sound biased and in no way condone Gerrard’s actions but finding a true “gentleman” in the England squad would be a fools errand ..

This is the worst time to get an injury. Feel so sorry for him.

like to leave message to get to David Beckham. I specialise in Achilles tendon problems and have had great success over the years with his latest injury. I can speed up the treatment and avoid long term tendon shortening with a unique low level laser therapy.
If knows how to contact him please pass on this message and my website; http://www.sportinjury-therapist.com and get him to contact me and I will promise to help him or no charge ! cant say farer than that.

That’s a good point steven. Recent events make it hard to argue. You could even go through the XI by rap sheet. Glen Johnson – stole a toilet seat, John Terry – allegedly etc, Rio Ferdinand – skipped drug test, Ashley Cole – cheated on his hot wife. And so on. That said, I get the feeling someone like David James is a good guy.

Specialists claim that business loans aid a lot of people to live their own way, just because they can feel free to buy needed stuff. Moreover, some banks give consolidation loan for all people.
