The Not Good News: Theo Walcott Injured Again

October 19th, 2009 | By: Daryl | No Comments »

Theo Walcott returned from a back injury and made his first start for Arsenal this past weekend. But 33 minutes later he came off again with what turned out to be damaged medial knee ligaments, thanks to a robust slide-tackle from Birmingham defender Liam Ridgewell.

Word from the Emirates is that Walcott will be out for three to four weeks and will almost certainly miss November’s friendly vs Brazil.

Nothing to worry about just yet, as it’s only October and it’s just a bit of bad luck from a tough tackle. But if Walcott is still experiencing injury after injury as the World Cup gets closer… then we might need to start fretting.

Unless you’re David Beckham of course, in which case you’d be that much closer to making the squad for South Africa. But again, let’s not start thinking about it. Yet.
