England 2-1 Slovenia. Now On to the Real Thing…

September 6th, 2009 | By: Daryl | 2 Comments »

Nothing too exciting about this 2-1 friendly win over Slovenia at Wembley.

Did Wayne Rooney dive to win the penalty for the first goal? He sort of just fell, and the ref gave him a penalty anyway. Let’s just say it was generous.

Jermain Defoe came off the bench and scored. Again. So should Defoe or Heskey start against Croatia? My take is that little Defoe is clearly more deadly in front of goal, but big Emile Heskey works better in Capello’s system. So if the name of the game is getting the most out of Wayne Rooney, then Heskey has to start everytime.

I don’t think it was a dive – I think he actually fouled the defender, and somehow got given a penalty. He seemed to appeal for it though, which is pretty savage.

Sue him.

Or write a petition to fifa, just tell everyone it’s meant for Eduardo and you’ll get your signatures. I mean if you’re running around England that is with your petition.
