David Beckham Will Go to World Cup “if he is playing and physically fit”.
Fabio Capello will definitely take David Beckham to World Cup 2010, provided he’s fit. At least that’s what he told Gazzetta dello Sport (which I then read in the Daily Telegraph)…
“Certainly (I’ll call up Beckham) if he is playing and physically fit.
“I don’t look at age, I look at qualities and Beckham has lots. He’s serious, he’s a great professional and the World Cup is incredibly important to him.
“He will do well (at Milan). I have no doubt about it. David is a player with his head straight.”
So there you have it.
Maybe not groundbreaking news, as Beckham’s involvement in recent squads suggests Capello is a fan. But it’s still slightly off that Capello has made such a certain statement with South Africa still six months away.
If I’m one of England’s other right midfielders Theo Walcott and Aaron Lennon, then I’m wondering which one of us is going to miss out.
