Should England fans have booed Ashley Cole for this cock-up?

It was pretty bad, no doubt about it. But I think if it had been any other player, there would have been a lot more sympathy. Ashley Cole has just built up so much bad will (Cashley etcetera) that he has no room for error.

The scoreline makes it look a lot better than it really was. According to my TV screen England lined up in a 4-3-3 like this:

Looks like we’ll be without John Terry for Saturday’s game against Kazakhstan at Wembley. Seems Rio Ferdinand has been lined up to do armband duties (as he should have been in the first place if you ask me) and that his partner in central defence will be either Wes Brown, Joleon Lescott or Matty Upson.
