Most England fans felt the team somewhat underwhelmed in the knock-out stages of the last World Cup, and that — added to the traditional English fatalism — makes us worry about the shape of this summer’s squad.

So it pays to remember just how dodgy a side Sven had at his disposal in 2002.

I’ve nothing against Danny Mills, Emile Heskey, Trevor Sinclair or Teddy Shearingham.

I’m just happy they’ll be watching the matches down the pub on the big screen like the rest of us is all….
