Frank Lampard says that England, though hurt by Rooney’s injury, is still loaded: “We still have a great team, a squad full of top-class players and we are still in that bracket of teams who can win the World Cup.”

I don’t think anyone’s debating that (well, anybody who’s not from Brazil, Holland, Argentina, France or Germany). But the questions of where goals will come from and whether that back line is going to hold up still stand.

Meanwhile, some good news from Lampard’s own club: John Terry should be fine in short order.
