Wayne Rooney: The Lout and the Touts

Wayne Rooney is a wealthy young man of enormous talent and questionable judgement.

None of that surprises, I know.

But he may have risked more than he knew by gambling on sports (other than football) and have as much as 700,000 pounds of debt.

The allegations, originally leveled in the Mirror, are substantive enough that Sven is poking into the matter.

Speaking for all authors who’ve never been paid $10 — or whatever it was that Rupert Murdoch threw at Wayne — I can only hope that the people to whom he lost money are starving poets or something.
