Walcott: Impressions

May 10th, 2006 | By: Shawn | 1 Comment »

Just watched Theo Walcott talk for a few minutes with a SkyNews reporter, and I must tell you I was well impressed. About 13 years ago I had the opportunity to interview the 17-year-old Tiger Woods one-on-one, and I thought I saw something of the same steely, direct gaze and calm demeanor in this kid. For all I know, he’s been drugged or neurally numbed by his selection to Sven’s squad and he doesn’t normally come off this way. But he conveyed an inner maturity that took me by surprise.

I would say his motivation is on the highest level it could be therefore he´s really looking forward to everything that´ll come up. He can´t lose anything that´s the greatest thing about all this.
