The Sweden Match: The Squad Takes Shape

June 19th, 2006 | By: Shawn | 1 Comment »

So it’s beginning to look like Hargreaves and Jenas for Lampard and Gerrard and Rooney for Crouch.

Firstly, what’s happened to Michael Carrick?

Secondly, did Aaron Lennon not earn a start?

I’m kinda groggy here on Pacific Daylight Time, so that’s my brief two cents on these matters this morning…

I really think Hargreaves is there just in case we have to play Germany. Erikson obviously wants him up to match speed too.

I believe Carrick is the better player, but you can’t replace experience of how Ballack plays for his club… the runs he makes and his capabilities.

Mind you, if we end up witnessing Hargreaves half a yard short as Ballack bangs in his third against us I won’t be very happy.
