The Fab Four Revealed!!!

Both ITV and The Telegraph claim that they’ve cracked the veil of secrecy and have named the men left on the FA’s list for Sven’s spot.

They are: Sam Allardyce, Alan Curbishley, Steve McLaren and Martin O’Neill.

Is this really the list? If so, then to my mind it’s a list of one with three backups. O’Neill is the only true champion manager in the lot, the only one with significant experience managing against Continental clubs, the only one with the name and the vision to seem like a lateral move — if not an improvement — rather than a step down.

But don’t only take my word for it: He’s the bookmakers’ top choice as well.
