The BBC Susses Out Sven’s Men

As of this minute, I don’t think any source has done a better job of handicapping Sven’s choices than the BBC. Their long-running series analyzing some on-the-verge players has been stellar, for instance.

Now they give us this — a full-blown prediction of Sven’s squad four weeks before the wily gaffer has to produce his roster for FIFA.

Most of the slots are obvious: Robinson, Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Lampard, Gerrard, Becks, Joe Cole, Rooney. I’m still not sure about Ashley Cole’s fitness as a starter, however. And who knows if Owen can find match form in time for the tournament.

For me, the most interesting group is the players that the Beeb reckons are done: Andy Johnson, Jonathan Woodgate, Glen Johnson, Wes Brown and others.
