Peter Osgood, the spiritual and goal-scoring leader of the great Chelsea teams of the Swinging Sixties, died suddenly of a heart attack at age 59 whilst attending a relative’s funeral. He had only four international caps, but he was one of the most memorable figures in the post-’66 era of English football.
