Walcott might be a shock inclusion but he will make an impact. The fact Sven hasnt seen him play can be overstated because he claims to have watched him in training more than anyone else.

Being 17 I feel is an advantage, he can play with no fear and will be an unknown force at the World Cup. If Sven hasn't seen him, there's no chance Paraguay, T & T or Sweden would have either!

As for Hargreaves, it is a suprise but I've read that he's been on the form of his life this season at Bayern playing regularly.

Ultimately Sven has picked the FORM English side (other than Darren Bent and Walcott)as well as an incredibly FAST side. Everyone else has had consistently good seasons and will head to the World Cup with confidence. This also addresses the Wright-Phillips issue - he hasn't played 90 mins all season for Chelsea, Lennon has been unstoppable!

what is the fuss about Rooney? He won't be fit, why taking the chance...as for Owen, he's not completly fit, coming from a long injury. Crouch is not any threat to a world cup defence and honestly not swift enough in scoring goals. you need swift attackers that can make goles and threathen any defence...Sven should consider Bent and Defoe, as well as Walcott. As for the defence, i won't recomend Campbell and Ferdinand...Campbel is a bit slow to react to swift strikers, Ferdinand is a very inseccure defender, i would choose his younger brother over him.

Everyone seems to forget that Wenger is the man who found Toure, Eboue, Senderos, Fabregas and Flamini.

You better trust Wenger's judgement when it comes to young players.

I'm hearing a lot of anti-Walcott sentiment here. I honestly think he'll make a big impact coming off the bench.

Sven is so super-conservative (Hargreaves, Jenas etc) that he must have seen something amazing in those training sessions to convince him. I've seen plenty footage of him (mostly You Tune highlights mind) and he looks something else.

He has pace like you wouldn't believe, add this to great technique and composure in front if goal and you've got someone who could light up a World Cup game in a way Darren Bent never could.
