Sven: ‘We Shall Pass…The Ball’

With Peter Crouch on the bench pulling the hair of a doll or afghan hound, can we expect England to actually try to score goals by building on passes through the middle toward the front? Yes, says Sven.

I understand it’s been 38 years since England beat Sweden. Tonight I think that record will have gone!

England 2-0 Sweden.

“Come on England!”

tyke, you could be right but I’d go for Lampard on the bench, Gerrard is a much better all rounder imo. They certainly haven’t clicked together on the park yet.

I’d like to see Walcott given a run out for last 15 tonight. He deserves the chance to prove everyone wrong.

I dont understand why Walcott is there…..its madness not having a PROVEN striker as back up.
Gerrard has scored less that Lampard, and has less chances (4 England anyway) so I would go for him and not Stevie for now

Maybe I’m being optimistic, but I can only see an England win tonight. Seems Sweden will be without Ibrahimovic, and that must be seen as a blow from their point of view.

I don’t think there’s much between teh teams, and winning by the odd goal seems most likely.

England are very capable, if they want to be world champions now is the time to show some desire.

Swedes approach to second half will be interesting if Rooney plays only first 45. Will they look to stifle midfield early on or come out with guns blazing? The latter I hope.

Blazing guns? I was hoping for a spot of keep ball in the second and a few choice shots from the director of those lovely swedish girls in hot pants.

I reckon a bit of chopping and dicing by Rooney and Co should ensure the swedes are soup by the time they limp off for there Half Time biscuit.

2-0 @ 45

I see England getting to the semi final after beating Germany and Holland, where they meet Argentina…..

I also see Italy knocking Brazil out

It’ll will be interesting to see how England cope without gerrard, as i think is more crucial to the team than any other player, which is why sven has decided to rest him.

It’s annoying the coverage is by ITV!! Would much prefer BBC to cover it as they do a much better job, and Hansen actually knows what he’s talking about, unlike any of the ITV team.
Plus you don’t have to endure many adverts!

Did someone say Argentina played two easy games? Ivory Coast and Serbia and Montenegro were only easy games because of Argentina’s talent and form.

Dave, yes but on BBC we have to put up with the ultra-sarcastic Lineaker, irrelevant facts Motson, and everyone’s favourite comedian Mark Lawrence. Talk about a sh*t line up.

Will the English prove that their really serious about winning the cup time..?
Maybe this match will be a goodbye present for Swen the big-mouth Eric…,prominently against his own country.

Remember…,for this game, maybe the only good news for England is the fact that Goran Ibram. will not be fielded because of groin injury..,as his replacement will be Allback who failed horrifically in the premiership..!

To all England fans…

England WILL NOT win this World Cup. Maybe Mauritania or Mongolia or Maldives could win this World Cup if miracles took place. But no amount of miracle will let the English win this trophy. Not this time. The English are capable of winning trophies only in their own backyard. So, if England wants to become FIFA World Cup champions, they will have to host the event once more.
