Sven Stews then Sues

Removing the foot from his mouth long enough to call his lawyer, England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson is suing the News of the World for breach of confidence following its now infamous Sheikh Sting.

“Our clients’ position is that stories of this sort, and the distortion of what was said during confidential discussions in order to create the bogus appearance of some legitimate public interest, must be remedied,” said Eriksson’s lawyers.

Not that the News of the World folks are too worried about the latest development in this absurdly overblown scandal.

“Our investigation uncovered facts about Sven-Goran Eriksson which we believe fans and players had a right to know. There will be further revelations published on Sunday,” a spokeswoman for the newspaper said.

There you have it. SGE is suing to remedy his own stupidity and the paper is laughing all the way to the bank. Whither England…
