Sven: ‘Lennon’s Fine But Becks Is Best’

May 28th, 2006 | By: Shawn | 1 Comment »

According to this report, there’s some substantial grumbling that Aaron Lennon should start ahead of David Beckham in Germany.

Really?

Who from, Paraguay?

Lennon is a nice tonic off the bench and a quality back-up should Becks get banged-up. But no matter what we think of Our Captain, he’s an experienced international player and works well with Sven’s system. He’s gotta start unless he’s hurt.

Hope springs eternal, I suppose. It’s funny how we get all worked up about the next young thing(s).

Why not just start the U-21 squad and be done with it?

Anyway…what kind of time do you see Lennon geting this summer, given his fairly nice showing against Belarus?
