Don’t stoop down to their level mate! Just in here to goad, no real interest in football, I must have missed their matches this WC. I love the New Zealanders, love the country, but it has no real culture (I apologise to any Maoris reading this) so to speak, that’s why their in here ragging the Brits. Culture, culture and more culture, just oozing out of our pours. Great literature Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Dickens. Some of the greatest minds the world has seen Darwin, Newton. The list is endless. Steam train, internal combustion engine, cast iron etc. etc.

The only thing England will win..will be a fast ticket to London…and a signed Portuguese team book with all players signatures and a special one from Scolari…

WE will play with all the yellow and red cards.. we will play with the second team..
We will play against 12 players..

But we will do it with heart..

Forca Portugal!!!!

Let’s just hope that after some of the disgusting behaviour I’ve had to witness this year, Portugal vs Holland, Germany vs Argentina, Australia vs Croatia, and Australia vs Italy, that today is about the game and fair play. Not some fiasco.

I’m sorry, but if England win the world cup i’ll be amazed. There performances so far have been frankly pedestrian, and although the Portugal/England game is hard to call, I cannot see them beating Brazil or Germany to lift the trophy.

To all english fans, from one portuguese fan:
Here’s to hoping it is a good, fair game for both of our teams!
Cheers & Saude!
Forca Portugal & Forca England,
it’s a pity we can’t both go through to the semis!

@ Andy H. Totally agree with the pedestrian performance England have displayed so far. As for the last comment, it ain’t over ’til it’s over. Let’s wait and see. There’s always 2010, minus Sven.

@ Picanha. I’d like to sit and watch the game with you bud. All the best for a good game, let’s hope it’s clean, fair and exhilerating. I’ll curse if you win, though that said, I’ll probably curse England’s performance more. Cheers!

Hey,

Argentina fan here. I write blogs for our Argentine page.

Just want to say that decision against Rooney was apalling. Plus Portugal’s football has been disgusting. They were playing like hooligans against Netherlands and are going all out again tonight.

I honestly think England got robbed. First, a very questionable red for Rooney. At most, it might have been a yellow. That really changed the game.

Also, the re-taking of the penalty is pure bull shit.

Don’t hang your head, you played a good match today (probably your best in the WC 2006). Tough luck.

YES! Millions of massive English egos have just been popped!! TAKE THAT! England is a team of champions, but a team that could never play as a unit. They were extremely lucky to scrape through the group stages and a win against an undermanned and relatively unknown side in Ecuador.
The British media have a habit of talking up its national teams to brain blowing proportions and have been in fine form talking up Sven and the cry babies for months. (Did anyone catch metro Beckham crying like the bitch he is after coming off?)
I just wish Australia could have faced these egotistical losers at a game my fair country has just begun to master.
See you in 2010!

The English media have a habit of talking up its national sporting teams to brain blowing proportions, in fine form raising expectations about Sven and the cry babies in the team, AKA Rooney and metrosexual Beckham. Hey that’s not right. Yes England have had a colonizing past, but the people of England are far more anti war than those in Australia and USA.

Shame… England should and could have done much better with the players they have, but in 460 minutes they have played in this world cup they never looked like a team.

For a team tiped to be favourite 2nd only to Brazil to win this WC… it was very poor to play like they did in their 5 games.

Definitely, England didnt deserve to be on the last 4(neither did Portugal i should say).

good luck in 2010

@ RYANO – You really are some sad, pathetic, probably an out and racist, never had a girlfriend, degenerate. If you hate colonial England, why are you living in a country that is part of the Commonwealth. You probably sat there and watched Melbourne hosting the Commonwealth Games. No doubt you have English acquaitenances, though you’ll never express your views to them in case you get a good hiding. Which incidentally is what you deserve. I’d call you a Janus.

Quick list of former empires:-

Greeks
Romans
Spain
Portugal
France
Belgium

there’s many many more!

Get an education and a life. We personally couldn’t give a CastlemaineXXXX what you think.

I’m from Canada, and I cheer for England. I thought today, the refs were very inconsistent. Did you see that handball on Portugal that they did not call? What was that?
