Rooney’sDoctorGate: Whaaaa?????

This can’t be good.

The Man. U. physician treating Wayne Rooney has suddenly resigned after a dispute with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Dr. Mike Stone, who joined the club in 1998, has left over what was termed “a difference of opinion on a non-football and non-clinical issue.”

Now, it’s not as serious a matter as if the lad lost his psychiatrist or Sir Alex his favorite publican, but you can’t honestly believe that the single biggest issue facing the club had nothing to do with this.

Did the good doctor suggest that Wayne was healing sufficiently to play in Germany only to be told by Sir Alex, who desperately wants the boy to take the summer off (he’s sacked Ruud, remember), that he’d ought to have another think about it?

Has Sir Alex finally turned into Captain Queeg?
