RooneyGate: Does Shrek Know When to Hold/Fold ‘Em?

A lot of Rooney news in the wake of the headlines about his gambling debts and his superb performance against Arsenal yesterday. Among the highlights:

— Sir Alex defends his star.

— Despite the fact that much of his debt is owed to a business associate of Michael Owen, Rooney has no rift with his fellow England striker.

So now we have a soap opera at the front line to match the one at the back: injuries, hurt feelings, naughty behavior, possible investigations of possible crimes. How long before the midfield melts down?

Good job there’s not an important tournament approaching, or anything…
