In The Independent, Nick Townsend says what I’ve been saying all along: the moment Wayne Rooney brings that foot of his onto the pitch, whenever that happens, he will instantly become a target.

Because not everybody in the world plays up to Michael Owen’s virtuous moral standards, after all…..

He was always going to be a target , but with the new reffing directives from FIFA it looks like players wont be even able to come near each other or its a yellow.
Still cant quite understand Steve G’s yellow he never touched the bloke. that Mexican ref was more interested in making a name for himself

What do you want, England to play their arses off in the first game and be knackered for all the rest. They had the one goal and held on to it. It is not about who scores the most goals, it is about getting the win and 3 points!
