Rafa: ‘Engerland Could Use More Foreign Influence’

April 10th, 2006 | By: Shawn | No Comments »

Rafael Benitez is of the considered opinion that the English game would improve if more English managers took the reins of foreign clubs. And perhaps he has a point. Not that he says so, but maybe the reason that Curbishley, McClaren and Allardyce look so tiny to me as potential national team gaffers is their parochialism. O’Neill only trumps them slightly. Scolari — if he’s still in it — seems a giant in comparison.

Discuss.
