Neville: ‘We’ve Got a Touch of Gold’
In this interview, Gary Neville points out — rightly, I believe — that this is a special English team. I think he’s right. Becks likely won’t be a factor in South Africa, and who knows who will be filling the wings, the side of the center beside John Terry, etc.
Saturday suddenly takes on an air of poignance.
I’ve been criticized here for not being sufficiently behind the squad. This article gives me a sense of urgency.

Really positive, uncompromising talk from Neville, we should have heard more from him earlier in the competition. Interesting his point about the initial games feeling like friendlies without another big team in our group.
Gary’s obviously a strong individual and I hope he’s on the park come saturday. This is bulding up into an unmissable match.

I hope england firstly win but i pray they deliver a positive game to take them and of course us “the supporters!” into the semi with a strong belief that we may finally win another cup!
I think although I cannot see it happening, that Lennon should play , Beckham and gerrard in the middle and although not a huge fan, Cole on the left. Ronnie and crouch upfront!!
What do you all think

hay, alan England soccer has a virus, oh its CROUCH!!
Damn, nothing’s more annoying than an english cockrouch!!!

Mo, I agree with your Lennon & co. tactic but I can’t help think that with Crouchy upfront it might just sway the team into doing those horrific long balls straight into the hands of the keeper again.
On the other hand, I don’t think Rooney can stay upfront on his own unless he gets some decent through balls, lol he poor guy runs his socks off after over-hit passes that are going straight out.
