More on the Mystery of Sven

Yet another predictable rant about how it’s impossible to know what Sven is thinking.

First off, I think it’s pretty clear what he’s thinking: Terry, Rio, Ashley and Neville/Carragher; Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham, Carrick/Joe Cole; Owen, Crouch/Joe Cole.

Secondly, who but a football analyst would feel that the manager owes him a thorough description of line-ups and strategies a week prior to the World Cup? Should he be sending scouting footage to Paraguay and Trinidad?

I don’t care much for Sven, but most of the press critiques of him are rubbish. I think that you want to keep people guessing. And the players seem to be content that they’re all on the same page.
