Matthaus: ‘We Can’t Beat England’

Legendary German captain and midfielder Lothar Matthaus believes that his nation’s team will go down to England should the two sides meet in the knockout stages.

“We don’t have the quality of players to match England, Argentina, Holland, Italy, Portugal or even Croatia,” he said, not caring whom he offended — rather like the way he played the game….
