The FA have announced that Steve McClaren has been appointed England manager.

Sigh.

You know what: I’m willing to bet he makes it through Euro 2008 and not to South Africa two years later. Now the idiots who botched the Scolari business can work quietly to find a proper manager.

Steve McClaren?

Isn’t that an anagram for ‘place-holder’?
