Lil’ Mick: ‘It’s Not My Fault. It’s Everyone Else’s’

June 17th, 2006 | By: Shawn | 6 Comments »

Michael Owen isn’t happy about the way his World Cup is going, and he knows whom to blame: The rest of the squad. “If the team aren’t playing well, then I’m not getting chances and I’ll probably be the quietest man on the pitch because I won’t come back and be pleasing on the eye just for the sake of it,” the wee striker says.

Atleast he wasn’t just praising his fellow team mates like all the others in the squad do in interviews.

Andy Townsend made the point that Owen makes runs for himself and rarely makes them to create space for his team mates… he’s right.

I’d still play him tho… he’s lethal when the mood takes him.

I’ll be happy to see Rooney and Owen in the upfront instead of that long-faced Crouch in the next game against Sweden.
