Gerrard: ‘Put Me In Coach!’
Signs point to Steven Gerrard being fit enough to play against Paraguay tomorrow.
To save time henceforth, I am only going to report on English players who haven’t had an injury scare.

With Rooney injured it’s madness that england dont play 4-5-1, with carrick lying deep. the gerrard lampard combo is usually terrible in 442, but 451 would allow them to play freely, look at what lampard does with chelsea.

Well, gerrard is old wise and experienced enough to know if he should play or not. Gerrard was one of the best players in the Barclay competition this year. And even with or without injures he always gave himself 100%

hey Shawn, so much for you’r “Crouch will not see any play time” theory huh?

Well.
If i was an englishmen or woman i would be most dissapointed with the game against paraguay.
Honestly england really sucked.
They might not even qualify for the later round with that play.
Iam so dissapointed they had like zero goalchances against a very week paraguay.
Sorry svennis your team suck and sweden will crush that enland them so easy.

Paraguay is a good team, solid third in South America it is said and this was your typical nervous English start.

Soze:
When did I say that?
(Later add: For the record, near as I can tell from looking over old posts, I said WALCOTT would never play. From the moment Rooney was injured I figured Crouch would be a fixture….and that was exactly how he played today: stuck in place.)

“Crouch may or may not start in the World Cup depending on Rooney’s fitness.
James and Walcott won’t get near first-team action in Germany.”
My bad, You did say Walcott. BTW Crouch may have not really been important in this game, but every time he made a move, he was called on a foul. It was like the ref. didn’t like the cut of his jib, and that was that, he was on him. The officiating in most of the games so far has been lack lustre.

I agree: Crouch was marked out of the match by the ref.
Then again, he’s the easiest bird on the pitch to notice when he’s up to no-good!
