England/Jamaica Aftermath

June 3rd, 2006 | By: Shawn | 1 Comment »

I didn’t get to watch the friendly, which was on at 6 am in my world on a morning when I didn’t get to bed until after 2. And while this was undoubtedly poor opposition — and hobbled, at that — this was an impressive final run, judging just from the result. Peter Crouch now has five goals in his last three matches for England (and he only played a full 90 once, remember). Michael Owen and Frank Lampard also found the net, which was good news indeed. And the very best news was that nobody got hurt.

I’ll have to leave it to folks who saw the match to evaluate the players. But, as I say, you couldn’t have scripted a better final tune-up for Germany. One week to Paraguay!

Nice write-up of the match here.
