Do You Fancy Becks In Back?

According to one report, Sven is considering starting Our Captain at right fullback so that Aaron Lennon gets more of a run-out.

You know, for a Swedish turnip he’s got some bottle….

That’s an awesome Idea. Lennon has great pace and really helped England out against T & T. I still don’t agree that it should be Crouchy with Rooney upfront, poor Owen has to score atleast a goal a match or he gets criticised, and hey he’s stll getting his groove back so we can’t drop him now!

For me it’s just another sign that after all these months of waiting Sven still has no real strategy on how to get England to the final.

Had to be the dullest match I watched up to now.

after 60 minuttes of T&T I noticed that our opposition were happy to close down the right midfield position mercilessly whilst allowing that passing specialist Jamie Carragher to pinpoint Crouchy and Oweny at will. “swap Carragher and Becks” I said… and blow me if Sven didn’t go one better and ditch Carragher and bring on Lennon… excellent. Thing that worries me is that England seemed unable to think on their feet… I’m not a pro… yet it was obvious that Beckham was being smothered… god help us really.

you have got to be kidding me? Beckham at right back? He wins about one ball a game and is a below average tackler at best. While I think that Lennon has looked the most dangerous player on the pitch for England (in his short stints and run up games) and he deserves more time, this isn’t the way to do it. Still, not beign an England fan, I’d love to see them try it…if only for the laugh.

Beckham was right back after Lennon came on against T&T.

There is the point that Sweden will actually try and have a go unlike T&T… so perhaps Becks at right back is a bit fanciful =]
