Crouch: ‘It’s Not My Fault I’m Built Like a Palm Tree’

June 23rd, 2006 | By: Shawn | 5 Comments »

Peter Crouch says that way up there where his ears are he hears all the carping about the long-ball play that he inspires in Sven’s men and he doesn’t like the sound of it: “It’s very frustrating that because I’m tall, different to Michael and Wayne we’re only going to play long-ball football,” he says, blaming Sven for the strategy. “For every person who doesn’t rate me I’ve always found a lot of people who have,” he continues. And some of them are even from Planet Earth, so there!

Because somebody is tall does not mean he cannot play on the groud, Toshack was tall not as tall I will admit but tall. The long ball game comes from Beckham playing the same route one football. It is time we got rid of this idea that being tall means hitting high balls, when Crouch was taken off we still hit the long ball.

For all the crap you english give to Crouch, he’s sure doing more than half your team out there on the field. Your amazing prodigy rooney can’t do anything but smack his boots on the ground like a child when he gets substituted out!

USA will never understand World Football whilst they listen to matches commentated by Americans with limited knowledge of the finer points of the game. They miss things, give wrong accounts, have no passion, use wrong terminology or invented terminology and don’t even make comment of brilliant pin point tackles and defended blocks and pin pointed passes. I have played and followed Football for 50 years. I went to my local Mexican Restaurant in my Sombrero yesterday and enjoyed to support Mexico and made friends and enjoyed every moment and the left footed goal by Argentine was brilliant. Give me a radio slot as an aternative to the TV commentary guys and I will bring you a new dimension in soccer appreciation.
