Olof Mellberg, the Swedish national captain who plays his club ball at Aston Villa, wins today’s prize for stating in the obvious: “England have a lot of good players to choose from and right the way through the team they have world-class players. They are strong all over the pitch and we really need to be on top of our game if we are to beat them.”
He then pointed out that the ball is round, the game is 90 minutes, the Pope has inclinations toward Catholicism and he suspects that bears might, in their weaker moments, defecate in wooded areas.
