As I reckon it, both Owen and Rooney would have to be less than fit for Johnson, whose style can be molded to resemble each of theirs, to be taken seriously by Sven. I think he’s equally likely to go with a combination of Crouch and Walcott — but, then, if he’s playing that pair then I reckon it’s all over….

I fear you’re right. Not because it’s bad news for England, but as an AJ fan, I think he’s going to miss out on this WC. And the next, frankly. Ah, well.
